Vital Records Office

Santa Fe, NM
2020

Vital Records Offices for NM Department of Health / Facilities Management Division, an approximate $5 million, 13,000 SF office building and records vault. Project includes extensive site work, expanded parking, pedestrian walkway to the adjacent MVD, future PV Panels, and spacious Public Lobby, Customer Service, and Call Center. Family Restrooms for the public and a Lactation Room for staff were provided.

Bringing in natural light was important for this project. We did several exterior and interior BIM light studies for different seasons of the year to confirm natural light was utilized wherever possible. The building features several Light Wells and Clerestories to allow natural light to enter the building without overwhelming the spaces with too much light, or causing heat gain problems for the HVAC system.

Part of the project involved designing and installing a Sapphire dry fire suppression system for the Records Vault. This entailed extensive coordination between the Architects, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, and Fire Suppression System Engineers.
